Capacitor units and spare parts
Single-phase capacitor unit
A single-phase capacitor unit is a replacement component for medium-voltage capacitor banks, designed to replace individual faulty elements without replacing the entire bank. It is a quick, cost-effective way to restore a reactive power compensation system to full operating condition.
The single-phase unit is structurally robust and designed to operate under demanding network conditions. This ensures that the capacitor bank retains its original capacity, balance, and reliability throughout its life cycle.
Applications:
- Spare parts for capacitor banks
- Restoring system capacity after a failure
Three-phase capacitor unit
The three-phase capacitor unit is a standalone reactive power compensation solution that can be used without a separate capacitor bank. It provides balanced three-phase reactive power compensation and improves the energy efficiency of the network, particularly in locations that have a clear need for compensation but do not require a capacitor bank.
The three-phase unit is compact, low-maintenance, and easy to integrate into a medium-voltage system. It is ideally suited for compensation needs in industrial and commercial buildings where a simple and reliable solution is desired without a complex control system.
Applications:
- Autonomous reactive power compensation
- Low need for compensation in the medium-voltage grid
- Industrial and commercial properties that do not require a capacitor bank
Pin insulators
Pin insulators are mechanical and electrical support components for capacitor banks and reactors that ensure the secure mounting of individual capacitor units and the proper level of insulation. They prevent live components from coming into contact with the structure and maintain the structural rigidity of the bank, even under load and during short-circuit conditions.
Pin insulators are designed to withstand temperature fluctuations, vibrations, and electrical stresses in medium-voltage environments. They are an essential part of the safe and long-lasting operation of a capacitor bank.
Applications:
- Mechanical support for capacitor banks and reactors
- Ensuring an appropriate insulation level
- Spare parts for maintenance and modernisation needs
Core balance current transformer
A core balance current transformer is a protective component for capacitor banks that monitors the current balance between the phases of the bank and detects any malfunctions in the capacitor units. When a single phase loses capacity or experiences a short circuit, the core balance current transformer detects the imbalance and sends an alarm or trip signal to the protective relay.
This makes it a key protective component for the bank, as it prevents overloads, overheating, and potential secondary damage caused by a faulty unit.
Applications:
- Protection of capacitor banks
- Phase imbalance monitoring
- Identification of faulty units
