A detuned filter capacitor bank is comprised of suitable compensation steps. The steps are selected depending on the fluctuation of compensation needs in the system. Typically, a suitable combination of small (e.g. 12.5 kvar), medium (e.g. 25 kvar) and large (e.g. 50 kvar) compensation steps are needed. The controller turns the compensation steps on/off as needed. If the traditional floor model detuned filter capacitor bank is too large or cannot be installed on the floor for other reasons, we recommend our wall-mounted capacitor banks.
The detuned filter capacitor bank is tuned to a frequency not found in the grid (in Northern Europe, this is usually 189 Hz). Other tuning frequencies can also be used.
